Welcome to a place that is uniquely you—welcome to your new home from M/I Homes. Come on in!

We know a home is more than just a place to live: it's where memories are made. It's your sanctuary, and now it's all yours! That's why we've created this series of helpful and informative videos with essential maintenance in mind.

From moving in to seasonal and annual improvements, home maintenance doesn't have to be overwhelming; in fact, we think it can be as simple as a checklist with a few friendly reminders.

Let's start with reminders for your initial move-in.

Customer Care Manual

Remember to first consult your home's Customer Care manual to better understand what items in your home are under warranty and the extent of coverage.

Watering

To get your backyard ready to be the perfect place to roast s'mores or catch lightning bugs, here's another helpful addition to any get-it-done new homeowners’ checklist: water sod daily for at least the first 14 to 30 days, depending on weather. Monitor wet areas and adjust sprinkler zones accordingly.

Gas Appliances

Gas appliances offer an efficiency and comfort that is unmatched. To ensure they're running optimally before first use, we recommend running each for a short period to release normal startup fumes. This ensures cozy and comfortable experiences are a part of your move-in checklist.

Sealing

It's always a good idea to seal all floor tile grout and granite surfaces. Over time, foot traffic and everyday use will add up even on the most durable materials.

A friendly reminder to help you take the best care of your home possible is just another way we stand behind our commitment to you—because your home is unique to you, and because home means more at M/I Homes.
