When you build a better home, it’s easy to stand behind your work. And we do both. No one in the industry has a more comprehensive warranty package than we do. It’s exactly what our co-founder, Irving Schottenstein, had in mind when he told us to “always treat the customer right.”


1-Year Customer Care Coverage

For the first year, your new home is covered ceiling to floor and wall to wall. If anything isn’t functioning the way it should, we’ll fix it.


10-Year Construction Defects Coverage

If any construction defects appear in your first ten years in your new home, we’ll make them right.

Pinnacle Welcome

10-Year Transferable Structural Warranty

This coverage against structural deficiencies gives our homeowners real peace of mind. And, if you decide to sell, it’s transferable to the new owners.


Manufacturers’ Warranties

We only put quality components in your home: brand names you know and trust. You get the benefits of all the coverage that comes with them.

What are Whole Home Building Standards?

One of the most important parts of the M/I Difference is the way we build our homes. Today, homes are built to standard building code. But at M/I Homes, we think you deserve an even higher standard than that.

*What’s covered?

Warranties are provided through M/I Homes and product manufacturers. Your Customer Care Manual will explain what items in your home are warranted and the extent and duration of the coverage.

Load-Bearing Components

The Structural Warranty covers Load-Bearing Components of your new home. This includes roof and floor framing members, bearing walls, and foundation systems.


All appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, garbage disposals, and HVAC systems, are covered by the respective manufacturer's warranties.
