Ever toured a model home and envisioned your family enjoying a movie night in the family room, or drawing yourself a bubble bath in the beautiful soaking tub, or cooking up a fabulous meal in the spacious kitchen with a farmhouse sink?

Well, we didn't stay for a bubble bath or a movie night, but we did cook up a delicious meal with Host Cassian Bernard and Chefs Mike and Mike in our beautiful Fordham II model home kitchen!

Viewers from all over Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, and many other states tuned in to cook along to create 3 delicious dishes for a perfect new take on a holiday meal.

You can watch (or re-watch) the Facebook Live cooking event below!

When asked why this menu of savory chorizo and apple flatbread, classic Caesar salad, and decadent chocolate pudding was chosen, Chef Mike McCauley said, “During the holidays, we seem to eat the same stuff: the heavy meals, the meat dishes. We thought a nice, light dessert would be a good option—not so heavy to finish the meal. A chorizo and apple flatbread would be a nice way to freshen things up.”

“These are the kinds of dishes we teach at our location here in Columbus. We do cooking classes, and these are the types of meals we teach people how to make so that they can feel comfortable going home and cooking for their families,” Chef Mike Frank added.

As the chocolate for the pudding melted into a rich silk and the chorizo for the pizza sizzled softly in the background, Cassian took a moment to answer a few viewer questions about M/I Homes with the help of Kathy from M/I Homes – Houston and Tony from M/I Homes – Sarasota:

Where do I start when looking for a new home?

  1. Take a look at our available locations, homes, and plans on our website
  2. Consider financing through M/I Financial to take advantage of current offers and programs for the best new home mortgage experience

What is the typical build time for a new home?

The build time varies from about 5-10 months depending on the city, so go ahead and contact one of our Internet Sales Managers for more info in your area!

After successfully mixing the whip cream without getting a single drop on his “cranberry” colored suit, it was time to pop the pizzas into the hot oven:

While the chefs switched gears to the Caesar salad, viewers wrote in to tell us what’s most important to them in buying a home:

  • Quality Construction
  • Great Customer Service
  • Space for a Home Office
  • Open-Concept Design

After being reassured by the experienced chefs that the anchovies getting added to the Caesar salad dressing wouldn’t make a fishy taste, Cassian handed it over to M/I homeowner Nichole Lawrence in Cincinnati, Ohio for her advice to homebuyers searching for a new home:

  1. Pick a floorplan that fits your family
  2. Consider your day-to-day activities

Right before tasting the culinary creations Mike and Mike were plating up, Cassian agreed with Nichole’s advice, and assured homebuyers watching that M/I Homes offers true flexABILITY with plans that accommodate creating a guest suite, home office, home gym, or whatever suits your needs most!

The last item of business before digging in: selfie time!
