Experienced Construction Manager Ryan Hebert is here to give some quick highlights about M/I Homes that he typically shares with his customers.
What types of things are you involved with in a home’s construction?
I’m involved from the start of construction through the finish, and even after the home’s been finished, for the first 30 days after Closing I am responsible for Warranty for each and every home I complete.
What are some exciting, new things you’ve seen in homebuilding recently?
I’m very excited about the new Journey app. Anything that can make communication easier and more convenient for the homeowner with us through the process is something that I’m for!
What’s one really special thing included in homes built by M/I Homes in Sarasota?
We use a third-party vendor that does extra inspections on our stucco for our wall sheathing and our lathe, they even do an in-progress inspection to make sure the stucco is being installed correctly, and they do a stucco coring to make sure it’s the thickness it needs to be throughout the home’s exterior.
This gives us a second verification to know that the stucco is installed correctly.
What’s your favorite reaction you’ve seen from customers as they get to move into their new home?
I love the smile on their faces when they finally get to move into their new home that they’ve been dreaming about, and they get a quality home that I’m proud to say that I’ve built.
That day is my favorite part of the whole construction process—when they get to move in.
What advice do you share with new homebuyers about their new home?
I usually prep homeowners for what to expect over the next year—they're going to move in and use items in their home, so it’s important to know how to care for their home and know what’s covered by their warranty.
Owning a home takes work, and they’ll definitely want to take good care of it.
