Grab your sunscreen, pool towel, and flip flops! Summer is finally here and it’s pool time! Here are a few questions to ask yourself if you’re planning your dream backyard pool:

  • Are you willing to maintain your pool? Maintaining and taking care of your own pool is more work than you would think. It takes a lot of time and money to take proper care of a pool and it is also important to make sure you take the right precautions to keep unwanted pests out. If you’re not ready for this type of commitment, then a caged pool might be a good low-maintenance option for you or it might be best to hit the community pool instead!
  • Are you looking for more sun or more shade? When planning your dream pool, this typically does not come to mind first, but is extremely important! If you’re looking for more shade, then caged pools might be best for you. However, if you want maximum sun exposure so you can perfect your summer tan, then you might want to move away from the pool screens.
  • What is your main need for a pool? Are you looking for a safe place for the kids to play, a place to relax and soak up the sun, a place to entertain friends and family, or a place to get social with your neighbors? This is a great question to ask yourself to determine what expectations you have in your backyard pool. If you’re ready to entertain, then a pool bar and fire pit are things you should consider when you’re dreaming up your cool pool designs. On the other hand, if you’re looking to get social and grab a pool cocktail with your neighbors, then a community pool might be best for you and will save you the hassle of maintaining your own pool.
